What is the SAFE PLACE course?

We are raising awareness of Domestic Abuse and would like people to get involved.

We are running a quick 'course' which outlines ways in which you can identify Domestic Abuse and ways in which you can help.....

We are trying to encourage people who do 1:1 appointments to identify as a SAFE PLACE in which people who need help can access it through you.

This is NOT an official qualification and will not give you any professional ability to counsel a victim BUT, it will allow you to help and support them in getting the help they need in a safe environment.

If you feel you are able to provide a safe environment for abuse victims to simply be able to ask for help we would love you to be involved.

What is a SAFE PLACE?

Places identified as a SAFE PLACE is an environment that people experiencing Domestic Abuse can ask for help SAFELY and CONFIDENTIALLY.

Is SAFE PLACE just for women?

NO-

Although 'After Path' started as a women's support group, we are working with more males and adapting to be able to help men in a more personal way. Men experience abuse too and sometimes even find it harder to ask for help!

Who can Join as a SAFE PLACE?

Anyone who works with people on a 1:1 basis (allowing for privacy and time away from their abuser)

Why is it FREE?

This is NOT a professional qualification...this 'course' is to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse and encourage people to seek the help they need. We feel if people know they have a safe environment that can help them it will encourage them to ask for help.

It may take a little of your time BUT it may help save someone's life! To us that is worth it!
